How to Calculate VAT
Value Added Tax (VAT) is an indirect tax on the consumption of goods and services. In Germany, there are two rates: the standard rate of 19% and the reduced rate of 7%.
Calculation Formulas
- Gross from Net: Gross = Net × (1 + VAT Rate)
- Net from Gross: Net = Gross ÷ (1 + VAT Rate)
- VAT Amount: VAT = Gross - Net
